WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Jeremy Bradley's Top of The Charts welcomes American Idol contestants on the annual Countdown to Christmas shows.

This year, there are three consecutive weeks of holiday programming on Top of The Charts. These shows blend Christmas music with the usual Top 40 songs from the show. Each week the amount of Christmas music increases on the program.
A Very Idol Christmas on Charts
American Idol contestants visit for holiday shows
Beginning Monday, Dec. 8, touring "idols" David Hernandez (season 7), Diana DeGarmo (season 3), Kimberley Locke (season 2) and Chickezie Eze (season 7) take a break between holiday shows to join JB and get into the holiday spirit (Show #139). The group talks about the American tour and takes part in the weekly webpoll discussion. (PROGRAMMING NOTE: This replaces the previously announced Show #138, A Canadianized American Christmas this week.)

Beginning Monday, Dec. 15, former contestants appearing on the American Christmas album talk with JB about the disc and the spirit of giving. On A Canadianized American Christmas (Show #138), JB is often left hanging wondering if the "idols" will make it on the air. Nikki McKibbin (season 1) was awoken by the show's phone calls, Lindsey Cardinale (season 4) was Christmas shopping, Trenyce (season 2) was in the middle of performing a theatre show, and several pre-arranged guests didn't even make it. Instead, JB left messages on their respective voice mails during this live-to-tape show.

"They were two very busy shows," said Bradley. "We'd never had as many guests as we did with our Christmas programming. We got ditched by a couple "idols" as we were doing the live show, but if the Canadian TV networks can fill time waiting for a political leader, we can do it on the radio. So, to kill time I started making my own holiday list -- it was of the people that'll never get another chance to come on the show!"

With the recording schedule, there was also a broadcasting change.
"Originally we were going to air A Canadianized American Christmas as the first show, but literally in a last-minute decision we moved it to follow the touring "idols" show," said Bradley. "The time-sensitive nature of the tour is what forced up the show. And this is also the first year the Christmas shows we pre-recorded in October and November will end up on the cutting room floor, never to be heard."

What's happening for the third Christmas show? More American Idol contestants?

"What? There's a third show?" laughed Bradley. "We've got a few calls out, but nothing is confirmed at this point. I know we're chatting with reality show host Joey Greco of TV's Cheaters, but that's not really a warm holiday interview! We'll probably run that in the new year."
